Introducing Barney Herrera, VP, Strategic Partnerships

As one of Fortis Edge Capital’s newest employees, Barney Herrera is passionate about community connections and building relationships.

To demonstrate his commitment to strengthening and expanding our existing relationships, like with the City of Seattle and El Centro de la Raza, he’s embarked on a ‘listening tour’ to hear what members and potential members want and need.

A first generation American, Barney’s parents came from the Philippines just before he was born. So to say he’s passionate about supporting our immigrant and refugee communities may be an understatement. His parents overcame many challenges—challenges like those Fortis Edge Capital helps its members with today.

Barney is equally passionate about finding ways to create new and different partnerships within the community. After a five year stint at Boeing, and previously, working at commercial banks, Barney considers this his dream role. He likes that the credit union is both local and agile, able to find creative solutions to financial problems. Stay tuned for updates!
