Your Building Blocks
Savings accounts are the basic building block of your financial foundation. You’ll open one to establish your membership. Start by saving a few dollars every paycheck and setting aside money that you don’t need right away, like tax returns or any money left over after your pay your bills and other monthly expenses. A good rule of thumb is to start saving 10% of your paycheck. Savings accounts are the perfect place to keep your emergency funds, as they are easy to get to but separate from the money you use during the month. You can open individual savings accounts for special items like vacations, weddings, or holiday spending.
Harness the Power of Automatic Savings
One easy way to grow your savings is to set up an automatic transfer from each paycheck into your savings or money market account. Since the money isn’t going into your checking account, you won’t miss it and you’ll be making steps toward securing your financial future.
What is Reg D?
Regulation D (Reg D) is a federal law that limits the number of certain types of withdrawals you can make from your savings and money market accounts. Currently, that limit is six withdrawals per month, unless you make them at a branch, at an ATM, by mail or messenger, or by phone where a check is mailed to your address of record. You can also make unlimited transfers to Fortis Edge Capital loans.
Once you reach your withdrawal limit, you may be prevented from making further withdrawals or be assessed a fee for future withdrawals.

I love these people and the credit union itself. Been there several times over the last three years for several reasons. Always friendly folks there. They have been able to help me in ways other banks or credit unions have not.
